Zulip - advanced analogue of open source Slack

Zulip - this group chat to work together or like Slack microsoft Teams, Which we wrote about recently. Zulip developed and has long been used Dropbox as a primary means of interaction of the employees. But then the company decided to make the service free code, so they are now available to all comers.

In principle, Zulip replicates the basic functionality of the popular Slack. If you are used to this chat, here you will understand too quickly. The main difference lies in a more orderly organization of conversations that, in addition to the main topic, can still have their own subtitles.

The basic web application window is divided into three parts. The left column displays the names of the active or as they are called here, flows. Each stream may contain several subtopics in which communication occurs.

The central area is used to display the contents of the chat. Here we can connect to the discussion, or send a private message to any participant. Their names are listed in the rightmost column.

In the chat, you can use simple text formatting, insert images, emoticons, videos, tweets, and code snippets. The reports use Markdown syntax, so the lack of means to express their thoughts and emotions are not felt.

The service supports a search on the 10,000 most recent messages, uploading files in the internal storage capacity of 5 GB. There is an advanced notification system that will not allow you to miss any important messages. The service is translated into all popular languages, including Russian.
