The inexorable advances in technology constantly raises new development summit, while yesterday's favorites go quietly live out their days in the dark far drawers. That's so popular optical discs seem soon suffer the same fate. The gradual reduction in the cost and increase the capacity of flash drives make use of CD and DVD drives are not the best solution for storing and transferring information. Personally, I do not even remember when he used his laptop drive.
However, there is one event when no disc is simply not enough. I mean the installation of the operating system. However, WinToFlash utility developers have made a convenient tool through which you finally get rid of the need to tinker with the optical disk, and will be able to install an operating system stick. Send special thanks to the developers happy owners of netbooks and other devices lacking an optical drive.
Let's get started.
Download the latest version of WinToFlash program.
The program requires no installation, so simply unzip to a convenient location and run the file WinToFlash.exe. After your acceptance of the License Agreement This window will appear:
Hit big button in the middle and starts a wizard to create a bootable USB drive with the Windows installation files. After that, it is necessary to insert the disc into the drive with the operating system distribution (it supports Windows XP / 2003 / Vista / 2008/7), and an empty USB flash drive sufficient.
On the next screen, specify the path to the disk to the operating system and the USB Flash Drive.
Once again I agree with the license agreement, this time from Microsoft, and the backup process begins. In my case, the creation of USB-version of Windows 7 took about 15 minutes.
The result is a bootable flash card which can be set on any computer system, not having an optical drive. Take also into account that the installation of the system with a flash drive takes place usually somewhat faster than from disk, which can serve as an additional argument to use WinToFlash.
