Postal service of Google in conjunction with other services to determine which city is the sender or recipient of the message.
How to find out the geographical position of the recipient
You'll need Google Chrome browser extension GeoTrack.
Install the extension and connect it to the Google account that you use for email. It will have to provide GeoTrack access to Gmail. The site expansion is said that the developer does not store any content emails or your password. I believe this statement or not - you decide.
Connecting GeoTrack, send a letter to any person or company, whose whereabouts need to be determined. As soon as the recipient opens the message, you will receive an email with the city, which is the destination. A list of all tracked messages geotagged can be seen in the expansion interface by clicking on the item Emails Tracked:
Alas, if the recipient also uses e-mail service Gmail, then to determine the coordinates of a simple letter is enough. In this case, the body of the message you want to paste any link. If the recipient opens the email and clicks on it, you will get its location, even if that person is registered mailbox through Gmail.
How to find out the geographical position of the sender
This can be done using the web version of Gmail, and specialized search engine Wolfram Alpha.
Enter the e-mail through a desktop browser and open any email from a sender, the city which you want to learn. Next, click on the arrow button in the upper right corner and select 'Show original.'
On the next page, find the line that begins with the words Received: from and contains the IP-address - recorded through the point of a set of numbers, placed in square brackets. For a quick search you can use the key combination Ctrl + F.
Then copy the IP-address and paste it into the site Wolfram Alpha. Service will display the name of the Internet service provider (or company serving its client), to which the registered address and the corresponding city.
Unfortunately, this method works not in all cases.
Gmail may not display the final IP-address, especially in the letters from ordinary users. Much more likely to know the location of the sender if it is a company or other legal entity, which is registered in the IP-address.
