Unfortunately, the school does not teach us how to perceive and remember to read the information. Most teachers believe that students need to read the book from cover to cover, and information should be forever imprinted in their head. From this method if there is sense, it is highly questionable, because in school we diligently memorize the material, told at the board and forget almost immediately after coming out of the classroom. In order for the new material has been learned, it is not enough to read. It needs to be understood. If the same amount of information imposing, on its understanding may take a huge amount of time and effort. And during the session, exams and such a waste of time for students - a luxury.
If I had known about this method of reading and storing information, exam preparation would pass much easier and the good of it would have been much more.
The method is called SQ3R or SQRRR - «survey, question, read, recite and review», ie "estimate, question, read, review and remembrance." In practice, this is what eventually come all the students in the second or third year of study. I try to teach your child at school.
evaluation
First, we conduct an assessment of the document: scan its contents, introduction and final chapter in order to get a general idea. This brief look at a book or document will give you an opportunity to see whether it contains the necessary information. If not, then do not waste time on it.
Question
Write down any questions that come to mind about the topic of interest. Once again scan the document view and mark himself points that may contain answers. The questions in this case can be compared to the objectives of the study, for which you are reading the text and understanding the answers will help you to structure the information.
Reading
Now read the text. Read slowly and carefully extracts, which contain relevant information. It may take a lot of time, especially if the text is complicated and in itself almost entirely important information. While reading make himself a mark, creating a memory card (Mind Map). Memory
After you have read the appropriate excerpt from the text, scroll to it in his head a few times. Review
