The main rule of successful passing the IELTS test - a good level of English. IELTS preparation is - familiarization with the exam structure, the ability to manage time for each test and practice.
A year ago, I passed the IELTS test with a score of - 5.5: Listening - 5, Reading - 5, Speaking - 6, Writing - 6.
August 3 this year passed the Academic module - 7.5: Listening - 8.5, Reading - 8.5, Speaking - 7, Writing - 6.
I want to share the experience of preparing for the exam, who may prove useful.

Video
The channel Target IELTS has a couple of useful video:
Mathcing headings really helped save time on this job and spent more on True / False / Not Given. I think mostly mistakes made in this section, I do not like the true / false. At home, when checking the efficiency of matching headings Council of 12 scored 11. A good result and a lot less time out.

Strategy on the exam
Council of Quora:
The biggest problem in handing over the examination of students is the wrong time management and not by the English. Students leave enough time for the section, especially in reading. So I would recommend not to give one section more than 20 minutes and perform simple tasks first. Sticks to a complicated issue for a long time and try to solve it in that whatever the cost, and as a result, miss a lot of basic questions - not the best tactic. This is a problem №1 among handing.
Reading
Well here basically need to practice. Doing exercise is always put a timer on each text is given 20 minutes, train to cope with the tasks in this time even faster. During exam time, the first 2 of the text I finished in 30 minutes, but the last 10 issues third of the text were very difficult and I spent on them are those saved minutes.
During the IELTS on-screen timer will not forget to keep track of time.
Listening
Before you hear audio, you will have time to look at the text, be sure to read the text and try some "guess" what kind of answers will be.
Here the most difficult for me to concentrate on all the time listening. I missed the first question and at the end of the 2 issue of loss of concentration.
If you listen to part of the text and see that you can not answer the question - then listen more, and answer the following questions. Audio sounds only once.
After end audio return to Listened questions and try to guess the correct answers. Sometimes there listening tasks, which originally give answers and they should be scattered on the proposals. And then you can pick up a pair of tapped "points."
During the year, improved his listening c 5.0 to 8.5 - this helped me to listen to podcasts, watching movies / TV shows in English.
Speaking
Engvid.com We have a couple of useful video about preparation for speaking (http://www.engvid.com/ielts-speaking-task-1/, http://www.engvid.com/ielts-speaking-task-2-how-to-succeed/).
Ideally, you want to find someone with whom she could practice your English, but I did not have such an opportunity. The IELTS Preparation books are topics on speaking, you can record yourself on tape and then listen to correct some points. Since I was getting ready for the week before the exam itself, especially not had time to prepare for the speaking.
Writing
As can be seen from the results for the year, my writing has not changed. Especially I can not advise. The same video engvid, practice. Cool it will be to find someone who could check your essay.
That's the way a reference to Cambridge IELTS 8I was preparing for this book.
All the above written - my personal experience. I hope you will be useful. How did you prepare / prepare for IELTS?
