Great news for all fans of racing, dancing, aerobic exercise, and even simple walking! It used to be that a person is born with a certain number of neurons, and their number remains unchanged until the end of life. Recent studies have shown that new brain cells in still form, and most of them are born in hippocampus - parts of the brain that is responsible for the formation of emotions and short-term memory into long-term transition. In the same section of brain was observed the formation of new cells in rats and mice which ran in the wheel.
But this does not mean that if you start actively running, you will become a lot smarter. The new cells that are formed as a result of physical activity, are nevovlechonnymi in common neural network and, in fact, are empty. Of course, these mechanisms have not yet been studied until the end and did not take into account even a huge number of other factors that affect the state of our brain throughout life. But the fact that sport is one of the elements that enhance brain activity, no doubt.
