We talked a lot about the benefits of meditation (It helps to relieve chronic pain and stress, "reload", improve brain function), and in this post we present another argument in its favor: meditation helps you to be more productive.
A recent study conducted by the University of Washington showed that meditation teaches employees to concentrate better, It helps to keep in mind more working parts remain energetic and less exposed to the negative emotions.
The study involved 3 groups of 12-15 participants. The first group for 8 weeks to practice meditation, the other - body relaxation, the third group was a control, they led a normal life.
At the end of 8 weeks, participants tested the speed and accuracy of their work, as well as the ability to multi-task operation. Also checked the memory and stress levels of participants.
It surpassed all of the first group. Memory have improved, they were more alert and less prone to stress. The third group started to practice meditation 8 weeks after the first group. After the start of regular meditation it has also become a marked reduction in stress levels. The group that practiced relaxation, oddly enough, did not become more relaxed at work.
The practice of meditation is recommended to dedicate a few hours a week, but even 2 minutes a day will help you achieve results. For more information about how to start to meditate in our article "How to train yourself to meditate every day practice of the two-minute meditation».
