A new genetic blood test that will determine the possible emergence of serious diseases of the cardiovascular system.
An international team of researchers from Imperial College London and the MRC Clinical Sciences Center, led by Professor Stuart Cook (Stuart Cook) developed unique method of determining hereditary heart disease using a blood test.
Previously, genetic tests take into account the smaller number of genes, but on the basis of their results could determine only the probability of occurrence of certain diseases. The procedure was worth a lot of money and was very time consuming, however, it remained the only possibility of early detection of serious pathologies, which in many cases do not show themselves, but lead to a sudden of death.
The new technique makes it possible to identify all known hereditary heart disease with the highest accuracy and put an unmistakable diagnosis. For this analysis of all 174 genes that may be responsible for the inheritance of kardiopatology. Previously, no method of research did not cover as much material.
Now a new method of diagnosis is tested in the laboratories UK and abroad.
