Now on the Internet quite a lot of services that help make a training schedule. Among them are those who make plans automatically, and those in which you help professional coaches; there are web-based applications and applications for smartphones; have assistants, sharpened under one sport, but there is more universal. Today I want to tell you about a simple but functional scheduler cross training from a reputable manufacturer of running shoes ASICS.
Drawing up training plan starts with a goal. It provides enough flexibility to configure it - you can choose different distances - from five kilometers to the marathon, the date of the competition (or specify «someday») and the desired result (the same can be omitted). The service also ask about your current capabilities (what the distance or time you can run), gender and age - not a lot of personal data, but just enough so as not to scare away beginner. Here's what my goal for the 10-kilometer race at the "Kharkov marathon."
The next step are small schedule settings of the only two options - how many times per week you are willing to train (2, 3 or 4), and how hard (quite vague mild, average and hard). Depending on this, the service will attempt to predict your results.
That it is all completed in this compilation of the plan. All scheduled races will be placed on the calendar grid with notes about the length and the required speed. Each designation has trenerovki like Jog, Comfortable or Race Pace, and by clicking on the calendar cell window pops up with an explanation.
The entire plan is divided into 5 stages:
- Pre-Conditioning - light and laid-back races at the minimum speed and for short distances.
- Going Further - main portion with a gradual increase and velocity, and distance races.
- Race simulation - the greatest speeds and distances that are comparable to the target of the race
- Race preparation - a week before the race, simple and rather short workout
- Recovery - recovery from the competition, different distances at low speed
The planned schedule can be imported into Google Calendar, or any other that supports ics format.
After running the information about it can be made using a special interface to make it easier to monitor your progress.
Of course, this service is hardly suitable for those who are very serious suited to their training - there is not a word either about interval training, nor about the PFD. However, it seems to me, for newbies like me, who are preparing for their first competition, it will be quite useful and convenient.
