We continue to collect for you delicious and healthy (sometimes more delicious than useful) recipes. This time we decided to use the accumulated experience in the preparation of energy bars and do something more simple self. The choice fell on the bars that need to bake. It was very tasty, but at the same time and find out some of the nuances. Work on the bugs was done qualitatively, and the resulting bars are approved and quickly eaten by friends. ;)
And at the same time we felt the resulting calorie bars, so it will be at least roughly imagine how long their action if they bite on a long run!
Ingredients
- 2 cups oat flakes Fast Food (217 g);
- 1/4 cup roasted sunflower seeds (36 g);
- 1/2 cup of dried cranberries (65g);
- 1/4 cup roasted cashew nuts (35 g);
- 1/4 cup roasted almonds (42 g);
- Honey 1/2 cup (130 g);
- 250 g of peanut butter;
- 90 g of dark chocolate 56%.
The total caloric - 4064 kcal. Calorie 100 g will be about 480 kcal.
Of course, the calorie count of one piece weighing 100 grams is quite difficult, because it is impossible to determine exactly how many nuts, seeds and cranberries proved in this piece, but this figure gives at least a rough idea of upotreblonnyh calories. For example, a piece on the photo size 3.5 × 5.5 cm weighs 33 g. From personal experience I can say that at a time more than two pieces, you do not overpower, which is about 66 grams, or 316.8 kcal that for a runner who runs more than 10 km, or a cyclist who decided to travel 50 km or more, is not so lot!
The ingredients are chosen from those that are most popular. At this time we decided not particularly zealous and take almost a standard and the most favorite combination, with which we are often willing to granola. In principle, we have and get nearly granola, simply in the form of bars. I think if you drink their milk, is very tasty. A coffee and tea are also doing well. :)
preparation
Oatmeal pour into a large bowl, add the seeds to the same right. If the raw seeds, dried in a dry frying pan until cooked. Then crushed nuts in a mortar. Berry cranberry dry too big for our mix, so it is also better to grind (I cut into 3-4 pieces). All the ingredients, except the oatmeal should be relatively uniform in size.
Add the chopped nuts and cranberries to the oatmeal and mixed well. Then add honey and again all is well stirred with a spoon at first, and then the hands, as the honey should be distributed evenly throughout the mixture.
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees and ready a baking dish. I used two small tins of foil (11 × 17 cm), you can choose another option. We spread a mixture of oatmeal with nuts and dried fruits in tins and start to stamp firmly.
Sending in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Baking time depends on your oven and the thickness of the layer, so that they should not depart too far, and check every 5 minutes. Once you see that the porridge beginning to acquire a golden hue, you can safely pull out your basis for bars - granola is ready!
Provides a basis to cool without removing from the molds. While it cools, melt the chocolate in a water bath. On the basis of the cooled, apply two layers: first, peanut butter, and then - chocolate. Covering with cling film or foil and send in the refrigerator.
I got out and cut the cake into convenient largest pieces. It may be and rectangular bars, and small squares - all depends on the public conditions you will need to eat them: on the run, before exercise, or it will be a tasting option for friends.

Error number 1. So, in the process it became clear that, no matter how I tried to chop the other ingredients, by cutting pieces still will not be as smooth. That is, bar starts to crumble a little, very little, but it is not very convenient! So next time I will immediately form of oat-nut-honey weight small bars or slices and bake them in this form. True, it is necessary to smear chocolate and nut paste every single bar. The works will be more, but they will not crumble.
Error number 2. It is not a bug, but a slight miscalculation. Now the street is very hot - chocolate with peanut butter beginning to melt very quickly. Literally 5 minutes after I made a ready-made bars on the street, the top began to melt. Chocolate does not drip, but we had a great stained their fingers. So the next time I immediately wrap bars in wrapping paper - it will be more convenient! So chocolate - is an option for cooler weather.
But we decided that in itself baked base is ideal energy bar for a hot weather! A chocolate can be added to the mixture before baking, then it melts and soaks bars. The main thing - do not overdo as slightly burnt chocolate taste is not very much.
