According to the founder of the popular applications Runkeeper Jason Jacob (Jason Jacobs) or increased endurance athlete speed or distance by using such programs. To prove this, the developers Runkeeper together with FactCo. Labs conducted an experiment. They analyzed the charts of training users who had at least one jog in February, March and April of this year.
It turned out that the average distance for beginner runners for 11 weeks increased by 26% (From 5.15 km to 6.59 km). This is clearly seen in the graphs below.
Long distances for this time increased by an average of 20% (From 6.11 km to 7.40 km). It is noteworthy that improvements occur in about 9 weeks, after which there is a small decline.
The average speed increased by 11% (18.5 km / h and 20.7 km / h).
In this case, to use the application to improve athletic performance is also important motivation: for one catalyst is a social responsibility, because your friends will see the achievements; other - specify the program, and for the third - additional features that open in case of a positive dynamics.
Whatever it was, to many people, going for a run with a "coach" in his pocket, and knowing what distance and in what rate must be overcome in order for dinner in anything does not deny, it is easier to cope with the set task.
